The Glorious Model I 2 wireless features an ergonomic design that has changed the way I think about gaming mice.

Ever since the launch of the Model O, Glorious has continued to release new mice like the Model D and Model I, which are more ergonomically designed than the Model O.

Glorious is on its second rendition of the Model I, which is available in both wired and wireless versions.

I’ve had the chance to test out the Glorious Model I 2 Wireless over the last few weeks, and I can confidently say that its features and overall design have changed the way I think about gaming mice.

Design & Features

The Model I 2 Wireless uses Glorious’ popular honeycomb body design, but now the holes are much smaller and more round than its predecessor.

The matte black body and overall shape are super sleek and aggressive and is one of the best-looking gaming mice I’ve been able to try out over the years. It has a right-handed design, however, so lefties will have to look elsewhere.

It’s only 75g, which makes it one of the lightest weight ergonomic mice on the market. For example, the Logitech G502 X Plus is a massive 106g and the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro is 112g

You’ll find the normal left and right clickers on top of the mouse, with a scroll wheel and two buttons that control DPI by default. The wheel doesn’t have left and right tilt or a free-spin mode, which are features I would have appreciated in the mouse.

What sets the Model I 2 Wireless apart from other gaming mice are the four buttons on the left side. Glorious includes different profile buttons in the box so you can customize how each one feels in your hand.

It’s not a mouse that you’ll want to have to carry around with you, however, as it’s rather bulky and doesn’t have a spot to store its wireless dongle. The latter won’t be an issue if you use it via Bluetooth 5.2, but you may still find it a bit too big to carry around all the time.

Software

Glorious uses its in-house-made CORE software, which is just… fine. There’s nothing special to point out about it, either. It features all your expected button programming and polling rate options, as well as a battery life gauge.

I couldn’t find any option to warn me when the battery life is low, however, meaning you’ll have to watch the lights on the body to get a warning that you need to plug in the included USB cable. I didn’t have any issue with this, but it’s not ideal for anyone using the mouse to game for hours on end.

Performance

The Model I 2 wireless’ buttons are phenomenal for just about any game you play with it, as having the ability to program your most used shortcuts to the mouse makes gaming great.

There’s no noticeable latency on either 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth wireless, and I had no issue with the mouse performance while playing Warzone or Deadlock.

Overall battery life does leave more to be desired, as it only lasts a few days when you leave the RGB lights on. It’ll last longer when you leave the fancy lights off, of course.

Glorious GMP 2

Glorious first entered the market as one of the first to offer a high-quality desk mat, and their knowledge of the space has helped them create yet another pad that will last years.

I’ve been using the Model I 2 Wireless with the Glorious GMP 2 desk mat, and it’s made gaming infinitely more enjoyable. The surface allows the mouse to glide smoothly and quickly across the desk while playing the most heated matches of Warzone.

It’s thin, too, so suddenly pushing the mouse off the side of the GMP 2 won’t throw you off too badly. Overall, it’s a great desk mat and something to consider picking up if you’re in the market for one.

The Verdict - 4/5

Glorious' Model I 2 Wireless is a great, ergonomically designed gaming mouse that changed how I think about them. However, it’s not as perfect as I had hoped.

The lack of a proper software battery warning and a mediocre battery life leaves me wanting more from the Model I 2 Wireless. However, it doesn’t completely take away from the fact it’s a wonderfully designed mouse - and one I’ll likely continue using for the foreseeable future.

If you're looking for a wonderful gaming keyboard to pair with it, Glorious' new GMMK 3 HE should be on your list to check out.
