The Lemokey P1 HE is the first wireless Hall Effect keyboard released under the Keychron sub-brand, and it’s further proof that they know how to make a solid keyboard.

Keychron has skyrocketed in popularity over the last few years with their well-built mechanical keyboards that don’t break the bank in the process. While innovating and building its lineup, Keychron launched Lemokey - its gaming focused sub brand.

The Lemokey P1 HE is the brand's first wireless HE mechanical keyboard, and Keychron was nice enough to send one over to test out. After a few weeks of using it daily, I can confidently say that it's well worth checking out.

Design & Features

On the outside, Lemokey’s P1 HE looks like every other 75% mechanical keyboard on the market: black body and keycaps with a knob. It’s basic, but it’s the perfect fit for just about any setup design.

Once you go hands-on with it, however, you begin to feel just how good the P1 HE really is. The full metal body gives it a fair amount of heft to prevent it from scooting around your desk, and the PBT keycaps feel absolutely phenomenal while typing.

It’s not a regular mechanical keyboard, however. Lemokey has fitted the P1 HE with Gateron’s Double-Rail Magnetic Nebula Hall Effect switches, which gives the keyboard a handful of gaming-focused features that I’ll get into more later.

The P1 HE features USB-C wired, Bluetooth, and 2.4 Ghz wireless. Having different ways to connect to your PC gives you more freedom, which I whole heartedly love.

What is missing from the P1 HE that is available on other Keychron boards, however, is an integrated MacOS mode. I was bummed at first, but luckily there is a way to program it to the MacOS keyboard layout on my MacBook so it was an easy fix.

Every setting for the P1 HE is accessible through the Lemokey Launcher web software, which works with every platform. On top of that, changes move across every operating system you use, so if you set a macro on MacOS, it’ll still be set on Windows.

Performance

I primarily used the P1 HE over Bluetooth when I wasn’t gaming, and it was relatively bug-free. I had a few issues with it randomly taking way too long to connect to my MacBook during the day, but it’s hard to tell if it was due to a fault in the keyboard or my laptop just acting funky.

Gaming Performance

I tested the keyboard with Marvel Rivals and Deadlock and fell in love with it. Latency is great with no issues making quick movements across both games.

The Hall Effect switches paired with Keychron Launcher gives you access to adjustable actuation, Rapid Trigger, Last keystroke prioritization, and Snap Click as well as the ability to program multiple actions to one keystroke.

Keychron/Lemokey

This means the Lemokey P1 HE offers every Hall effect-exclusive feature available, making it an absolutely wonderful gaming keyboard.

Typing Performance

Just like almost every other Keychron and Lemokey keyboard, the typing experience on the P1 HE is absolutely phenomenal. The sound absorbing foam helps create a creamy sound profile while the gasket mounted PCB makes it feel wonderful under your fingers.

Battery Life

Lemokey doesn’t advertise a rated battery life, but after using it for a few weeks I can confirm that on Bluetooth 5.2, it lasts almost two weeks of constant use.

It will be a little less on 2.4 Ghz wireless, but I’m confident most users will still receive between 7 and 10 days of battery life when using the P1 HE.

The Verdict - 4/5

When I started Pickle Tech, I told myself it would take an absolutely out-of-this-world keyboard to receive a perfect score of 5/5. It would need something that makes it stand out from the rest of the pack, something you could only get on that keyboard.

Although it’s a superb 75% Hall Effect keyboard, the Lemokey P1 HE doesn’t offer anything to make it really stand out from the dozens of other 75% HE keyboards.

I recommend checking it out if you’re in the market for a Hall Effect gaming keyboard, but you might find other options that fit your interests even more. The GMMK 3 HE, Corsair K70 Pro TKL, and NuPhy Field75 HE are a few other well-built gaming keyboards at or below the same price range.
