Logitech’s new G915 X low-profile gaming keyboard is a wonderful nod to one of the company's most iconic keyboards.

First released back in 2020, Logitech’s G915 keyboard was one of the first low-profile options released by a major gaming manufacturer.

Since then, the market has evolved so much that the original release quickly became quite dated due to ABS keycaps, unlubed switches, and special switches that made it hard to change the keycaps.

Logitech released the G915 X in 2024, and after testing it for a few weeks, I can say that it’s a wonderful upgrade from its predecessor.

Design & Features

The G915 X looks almost exactly like its predecessor, but that’s not a bad thing. Logitech’s designs over the last half-decade have been some of the best, most unique-looking keyboards to be released by a major company.

You can remove every nod to Logi from the keyboard, and you’ll still immediately think it’s made by Logitech just by looking at it.

It features five macro keys on the left side with another four on top beside the toggles for wireless, Bluetooth, game mode, and RGB. Over on the right side you’ll find four dedicated media buttons and a roller wheel for volume control.

One of the biggest upgrades to the Logitech G915 X is the switch to PBT keycaps, meaning they’ll last quite a bit longer and feel better at the same time. On top of that, PBT keycaps won’t get that weird oily shine that many cheaper ABS keycap sets – and the original G915 – get.

Under the keycaps are Logitech’s GL Mechanical switches, which are co-developed alongside Kailh. The switches aren’t hot-swappable, however, which is a bummer.

On the plus side, Logitech’s switches now have the standard cherry MX stem, meaning you can change the keycaps to any low-profile layout you can find online.

The G915 X supports Logitech’s new Keycontrol feature, which allows you to assign up to 15 different functions to a single key. Thus, the number of things you can do with the nine macro keys is endless.

You can set it all up by using the G Hub software, which I’ve found to be pretty easy to navigate. All of the menus are well laid out and explained for new users to make their way around it, and it doesn’t take up too much of your system resources while hanging out in the background of your gaming PC.

Performance

Using the G915 X throughout the day is a phenomenal experience. The wireless connections – both Bluetooth and Lightspeed – are super stable and don’t introduce a ton of latency while typing.

Gaming performance

I tested the G915 X in Deadlock, and it quickly reminded me why Hall Effect keyboards are becoming increasingly popular. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with using it for games. It works great and gets the job done.

However, after months of using HE keyboards for gaming, the lack of features provided by HE switches has become increasingly noticeable. The Logitech G915 X does not have a Rapid Trigger, Snappy Tappy, or adjustable actuation.

Battery Performance

Logitech says the G915 X battery will last up to 36 hours on Lightspeed wireless with RGB on 100%, and even longer on Bluetooth.

I haven’t been able to test every setting because the battery lasts so dang long. On Bluetooth with RGB on 75%, the battery lasts well over three weeks of constant use.

The Verdict - 4/5

The Logitech G915 X is a wonderful nod to its predecessor, with ABS keycaps and new switches that are a pleasure to type on. It may not be the best keyboard on the market to game on with regular mechanical switches, but it does the job just fine.

Logitech could have added a hot-swappable PCB for added customization and value, but I can’t give the G915 X a perfect score since they didn't.
