Bringing indie game quality to the racing genre – Mini World Racing brings top down racing with a neat twist.

One thing that I believe is missing in the Indie Game community is an abundance of racing games.

It seems to me every indie game developer recently have been jumping straight towards roguelite platformers with some twist to the mechanics. Not to say they’re bad games at all though, we’ve definitely seen some interesting takes on the genre.

Some of the most memorable takes on the genre are Super Magbot’s magnet mechanics and Super Cable Boy’s glitchy graphics and swinging mechanics.

Mini Racing World reminds me a bit of Micro Machines from when I was a kid, just a little more indie.

MRW is a low poly arcade racing game with a career, car tuning and a open world map to explore.

There’s not really a lot to say about it. Theres a few landscape bugs every so often and the map is occasionally easy to get lost in, but overall the game is super fun.

It takes a minute to get the hang of the controls. They’re not necessarily bad, I believe its mainly due to the static top-down camera angle that I’ve always considered goofy in racing games.

There’s plenty to do in the game, with countless seasons scattered throughout the map and different types of races available.

Theres no high-quality storyline or cars you’ll recognize, but Mini Racing World makes up for that with its lower-price point and well thought out details.
